Schlumbergera kautskyi cutting

Schlumbergera kautskyi is at first sight a lookalike of Schlumbergera truncata. The seed berries are quit different, green and hooked (S. truncata pear round and red). Flowering occurs from August (Northern hemisphere), so much earlier than S. truncata. Schlumbergera kautskyi lives a population separated from S. truncata.

Cultivation notes:
Like all Schlumbergera use very open soil when transplanting. Grows well in shade. As it is self-fertile, one clone is enough to get seeds. Seeds take almost 1 year to get ripe.
